Katie Holmes wrapped filming on her movie Mad Money in Louisiana last week, but the sweet-toothed actress didn’t leave town empty-handed.
Before heading home, she ordered eight dozen cupcakes and several pies from Cush’s Grocery and Market in Shreveport. (She also lavished the cast and crew with desserts from the store.)
“She wanted some cupcakes for the road,” a source tells People Magazine.
In the last two months, Holmes has made a tradition of treating her Mad Money colleagues to everything from snow cones to cupcakes and pizza.
She’s placed more than a dozen orders to the bakery at Cush’s, including requests for red velvet and peanut butter and chocolate cupcakes. For Mother’s Day, Holmes had 28 dozen of the sweet treats delivered to everyone on the set, and she and husband Tom Cruise would also order meat pies and chicken salad from Cush’s deli.
“Katie’s assistant started coming in and bought a couple of dozen cupcakes,” the source says. “She loved them and it just took off from there.”

You know that darlin’ bright pink sundress trimmed in white rick-rack Suri — daughter of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise — wore in photos in People mag and US Weekly last week?
Well, her mom bought it for her right here in Shreveport.
Katie and Suri stopped by Ladies in Waiting recently and shopped to their heart’s content for about an hour, e-mailed Melissa Dixon, who owns the shop with Pam Baker.
“Katie was very sweet and polite and Suri was the cutest thing ever. She is just now walking and stuck close by her mother and waved at some of our customers’ other children,” Dixon said.
Katie picked up clothes, toys, games and rain boots during the stop.
Two weeks after the visit, the shop received a thank-you note from Katie for a gift they presented her.
Shreveporter Kay Redstone is serving as a stand-in for Diane Keaton in “Mad Money.” “She is so nice,” said Redstone, chatting at the Demoiselle Club Debutante Summer Announcement Party.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have sparked rumors they are planning to have another baby.
The couple, who already have a one-year-old daughter Suri, are moving into a new $US35 million Beverly Hills mansion next month and are converting one of the seven bedrooms into a nursery, seemingly in preparation for a new arrival.
A source told Life and Style Weekly magazine: “Tom told Katie how much he loves their little girl and how he wants to have another baby when she’s ready.
“She told him she’s ready. And in his typically enthusiastic fashion, Tom’s moving full steam ahead preparing for a new arrival.”
Katie, 28, has made no secret of her happiness at becoming a mother.
The actress, who gave birth to Suri in April 2006, says motherhood came easily.
She said: “I love it! Suri is doing really, really well. She’s a beautiful little girl. I feel so honoured to be her mom, really.”

For the people working on Katie Holmes’s new movie, Mad Money, in Shreveport, La., TGIF means “Treats and Goodies, It’s Friday.”
The actress has been treating her fellow cast and crew to a tasty surprise every week. This Friday’s special? Snow cones in “every flavor you could think of,” an insider tells People magazine.
“We’re always wondering all week, ‘What’s Katie going to do this Friday?” the source says. “The snow cones were great because it’s in the high 80s. They melt fast, but it’s great.”
A snow cone truck pulled up to the set around 3 p.m. Friday, and as word spread among the cast and crew, a line quickly formed to share in the shaved ice and flavored syrup treats that are so popular in the South.
Since shooting began on Mad Money, a comedy also staring Diane Keaton, Queen Latifah and Ted Danson, Holmes has treated the entire cast and crew – about 200 to 300 people – to a surprise.
“The first Friday was smoothies,” the insider says. “Then we had the ice cream, pizza, cupcakes, Coke floats and now snow cones.”
Hubby Tom Cruise and daughter Suri are frequent visitors to the set. Suri was there on Friday without Cruise. “She was walking down the hall today – someone waved and said ‘hi,’ and she just giggled,” says the source. “She’s a happy baby.”

Katie Holmes is threatening legal action after a young actress from Texas changed her name to Katee Holmes and vowed to lose her virginity in a porn movie.
The 18-year-old fashion student is set to star in an adult film and says she will be deflowered in one of the scenes.
Whiter-than-white Katie, wife of Tom Cruise and devout scientologist, is said to be fuming and is seeking legal advice to stop the actress using her name, according to her spokesman.
The spokesman said: ‘It’s a really cheap shot. Obviously Tom would support Katie in anything she decides to do about it.’
However Shy Love, Katee’s manager and a veteran of the adult film industry, said: ‘She’s using the name as a tribute to Katie, who has always portrayed innocence in whatever she has done.’

As Katie Holmes shoots her latest movie, Mad Money, in Shreveport, La., Katie Holmes is making sure her fellow cast and crew members – all 200 or so of them – are well fed. For the third consecutive Friday she brought in a special treat.
“We got cupcakes,” one cast member told People magazine. “They were good, too.”
Holmes, who is costarring with Queen Latifah, Diane Keaton and Ted Danson in the comedy, started the Friday tradition on April 27, when she treated the set to 300 ice cream cones – a nice break as temperatures climbed into the high 80s.
The next Friday, Holmes arranged for more than 80 pizzas to be flown in from Chicago and baked locally before being delivered to the set.
“It was a lot of pizza,” one fan says. “We had veggie, sausage, pepperoni. It was good pizza.”
Meanwhile husband Tom Cruise and baby Suri have been making their own scene on the set. During one rainy day of filming, he introduced the talking and singing 1-year-old – who appeared “just as happy as could be” – to the cast and crew, telling her to say hi, which she did, a source says. After everyone oohed-and-ahhed over Suri, she waved “bye-bye” to the group as the trio left.
Says the source, “They all truly could not have looked happier. … They were just like any other family in the South.”

In a move that further dispels rumors of marital strife, Tom Cruise has plunked down $35 million for a Beverly Hills home for himself, Katie Holmes and baby Suri, the Los Angeles Times reports.
The star, 44, had been renting a home in Beverly Hills for the past several years (he and Holmes, 28, married last November), but that lease runs out next year, according to the paper.
The new address, which reportedly was not even on the market when Cruise made his offer, is described as a ” traditional-style residence.”
Originally built as a 10,000-sq.-ft. structure in 1937, the house was expanded four years ago and currently contains seven bedroom and nine bathrooms, say those familiar with the property.
The Cruises will have their privacy: the house sits on 1.3 acres behind gates and a lengthy driveway, and sports a tennis court and a pool.
