Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes fear their 9-month-old daughter, Suri Cruise may be the target of kidnapping plots, reports Star.

“That child is growing up inside a bubble,” says a source. “I think both dad [Tom Cruise] and Katie are so worried that if Suri is exposed to the public, her life could be in danger.”

After appearing with her parents on the cover of the October issue of Vanity Fair, Suri did make “coming out” appearances in late November at Katie and Tom’s gala Italian nuptials - but there, the family, which also includes Tom’s adopted children, Connor, 11, and Isabella, 14, was protected by at least 200 police officers, plus a special detail of the crack Italian security force, the Caribinieri!

The last time she was seen was in her father’s arms surrounded by eight bodyguards at an airport in the Maldives Islands on her parents’ honeymoon.

Holmes, 28, and Cruise, 44, apparently fear their baby could be a prime target for abduction.

“The world was so obsessed with getting its first peek at Suri, I think Tom and Katie might have decided to keep her under wraps to prevent some wacko from trying to abduct her,” a source told Star magazine.

Katie Holmes‘ passion for pricey designer clothes cost her $200,000 last year at one Beverly Hills department store alone. Tom Cruise’s new bride was regularly photographed wandering around the posh Barneys New York department store while she was pregnant with the couple’s baby daughter Suri.

Sources tell Us Weekly that the star often asks the store to stay open for her after hours. The source explains, “She walks around with a personal shopper and points at what she wants. She orders different colors and a few of each. She’s their favorite customer!”

The 28-year-old regularly shops for designer footwear and spent $400 on two pairs of jeans in April and left with five bags’ worth of baby clothes in November. Holmes representative denies that the star receives any special treatment, which a representative from Barney’s confirms, saying, “We never have been asked to open a store for Katie Holmes after closing hours.”

Katie Holmes wasn’t exactly happiest of all when she discovered she was going to be spending her fairytale honeymoon in the Maldives with her groom, Tom Cruise and his best man and mentor, Scientology leader David Miscavige.

The Cruise entourage had their stay on a luxury yacht cut short by a huge typhoon and returned to Los Angeles days earlier than expected.

Now Katie Holmes is insisting they have a second honeymoon in the New Year, and this time it will just be Mr and Mrs Cruise, with baby Suri staying at home with Tom’s sisters.

Tom Cruise will be flying his bride to the South Pacific island of Tahiti after Christmas, where they will stay at the $15000 a night Le Taha’a Private Island and Spa, Glamour reports.

“Tom has been extremely close to David Miscavige for years but I think he now realises he needs to have some time on his own with Katie. This will be the real honeymoon,” a source told UK’s Daily Mail.
