‘Katie and Tom argue over everything, from her career, her friends and the big one – Scientology,’ says a source.
‘At first, she did whatever he wished. But give Tom an inch and he’ll take a mile, so then Katie rebelled and even threatened to leave him.
Friends have given advice, but even though people are well-meaning, unless you’ve lived with Tom it’s impossible to understand just how exhausting he is.’
A desperate Katie, 28, spoke to her childhood friend Meghann Birie and then made the decision to phone Nicole.
‘Katie was at her wits’ end with Tom. He wouldn’t agree to marriage counselling unless they went to a Scientology counsellor,’ continues the source. ‘But Katie didn’t think anyone associated with Scientology could be impartial. It was Meghann who suggested asking Nicole.’
A spokesperson for Tom and Katie was unavailable for comment.
